New Star Wars Battlefront, Need for Speed to be playable at E3

EA is once again hosting its EA Play event a few days before E3 this year, and we already have some big-name games to look forward to. The publisher confirmed in a blog post some of the games we can look forward to seeing and playing at the event. Chief among them are the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront and Need for Speed games.

What exactly will be playable from those games EA isn’t yet saying. Battlefront‘s inaugural offering in 2015 was a solely multiplayer experience, something criticized by media and consumers alike. They’ve promised a campaign for the sequel, and it’s fair to assume they’ll show something from it, but as to whether the playable segment will the single or multiplayer is unknown.

In addition to those banner games, the usual stable of EA Sports games will be on display, though NBA LIVE 18 is making an appearance after a long time in development.

Okay, but what else?

These are just some of the games. BioWare has a new IP on the way, and EA won’t be letting franchises like UFC and NHL sit dormant for too long.

A new Battlefield game wouldn’t be a surprise either, but I’m hoping that the success of 2016’s Battlefield 1 convinces the publisher to give the series some room to breathe and do more interesting takes on war like that one.

EA’s EA Play show goes from June 10-12, running right before E3.
